Loughborough and Sussex appear at the top subject rankings

21 March 2017

Subject rankings are becoming increasingly popular as they help students assess the quality of the type of the subject they will study. QS released their world subject rankings in March, and UK universities claimed number one spot for eight subjects. The universities of Sussex and Loughborough appear at the top of global rankings comparing universities by individual subjects. Loughborough University is rated one of the world's best for sports and University of Sussex for development studies.

Amongst UK universities, Oxford is rated top in the most subjects - English, Geography, Anatomy and Archaeology. The Royal College of Art is top for art and design and the Institute of Education, part of University College London, is in first place for education.

The University of Cambridge featured most in the top 10 for all subjects than any other institution.

Other UK universities that made it to the top 10s in subject rankings are the University of Reading, London School of Economics, University of Durham, University of Manchester, Imperial College London, and Goldsmiths, University of London.
