Aberystwyth University was founded in 1872 and was the first university in Wales. Aberystwyth University is the only university in the UK to offer every student a year’s work placement as part of their degree, leading to a better than average employability level, and there are currently 9,500 students enrolled.
Aberystwyth has one of the largest graduate schools for international relations in the world, with over 150 Master’s and PhD students enrolled. The Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences, which is shared with Bangor University, is a world class research and education centre researching issues including sustainable land use, climate change and the security of food and water supplies. It is also home to one of the five UK copyright libraries, the National Library of Wales, and has the largest Arts Centre in Wales.
Over 170 clubs and societies offer a wide variety of things to do away from study, and there is a Sports Centre on campus offering a range of activities.

Anglia Ruskin University - ARU is one of the top 350 universities in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings) and is an innovative institution which is also considered a ‘rising star’ – one of the institutions predicted to be challenging the global elite by 2030.

Aston University is lively, welcoming and cosmopolitan campus based university situated in the centre of Birmingham, the second largest city in the UK. It was founded in 1895 and in 1966, received the Royal Charter to be a University from Queen Elizabeth II. The campus is home to five schools (Business, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Languages and Social Sciences Life and Health Sciences and the Medical school) which offer foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research programmes. Cardiff Metropolitan University is spread across three campuses in Wales capital city, with around 12,000 students from 140 different countries currently enrolled. It was originally founded as the Cardiff School of Art & Design in 1865, and became an independent university from the University of Wales in 2011.
The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide named Cardiff Metropolitan University as Welsh University of the Year 2021. The University also leapt 33 places in the league table, which is the institution’s highest ever jump in this guide and the third highest rise of any university in the UK this year.

The University of Chester is one of the oldest higher education providers in the UK, having recently celebrated its 182nd year of teaching. With 15,000 students from 130 countries worldwide, Chester provides a vibrant, diverse and safe home for those travelling from overseas to study.

City, University of London is located in Islington, north London. The University was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute and was awarded full university status in 1966. It established the first aeronautical laboratory in the UK 100 years ago and now runs the world’s largest Masters course for the air transport industry.
City, University of London has one of the highest proportions of postgraduate students of any UK university. Most of the courses at undergraduate level include a work placement, offering a fantastic opportunity for students to gain work experience while they study. Heriot-Watt University is the eighth oldest higher education institution in the UK and originated as the School of Arts of Edinburgh, the world’s first mechanics institute, in 1821. In 1966 it became a university by Royal Charter. More than a third of Heriot-Watt’s 7,000 Edinburgh campus students are from outside the UK and this international focus is also demonstrated by the 10,000 students from 150 different countries worldwide studying on its international programmes.
The University boasts multiple campuses, with three in Scotland, and one each in Malaysia and Dubai. Heriot-Watt won an award from the Scottish Council of Development and Industry because of its international focus and it also performs well in physical sciences, mathematics, business and management, engineering and the built environment. The University of Hertfordshire is a modern university based largely in Hatfield, in the county of Hertfordshire, about 35km north of London. Described as “the UK’s leading business-facing university”, Hertfordshire has more than 25,000 students enrolled from nearly 90 different countries.
The University of Hertfordshire won the Guardian University Award for Student Experience in 2015, while 95.2% of University students are in work or further study six months after graduating.
The University has many close links with industry, and every British Formula One team has at least one Hertfordshire graduate. Keele University was the first new UK university of the 20th century and was founded to promote interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scholarship. Keele pioneered the Dual Honours degree, which is still taken by around 70% of students. Single honours degrees are also available, as is a multi-disciplinary foundation year.
10,000 students from over 120 countries are enrolled at the University, and almost all undergraduates can study abroad for a semester in one of 80 partner universities. Keele is consistently ranked in the top 3 for student satisfaction.
Keele University is set across 600-acres of parkland, with extensive woods, lakes and beautiful parkland. The central feature of the estate is the 19th century Keele Hall, registered by English Heritage as Grade II.

Established in 1904, the University of Leeds has an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research and is part of the prestigious Russell Group of research intensive universities.
Leeds is one of the largest universities in country, with 38,000 students currently enrolled from over 170 countries, while its single campus location is spread out over 98 acres just one mile from the busy city centre. The University of Nottingham is a research-focused campus university which has been described as “the nearest thing Britain has to a truly global university” by the Times, with campuses in Malaysia and China as well as the UK. It is the fifth largest university in the UK and a member of the Russell Group, Universitas 21, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the European University Association.
The University of Nottingham is regarded as one of the best universities in the world and regularly features in the UK’s top 30 Higher Education institutions. The Teaching Excellence Framework ranked Nottingham Gold, while the QS World Rankings by Subject revealed Nottingham subjects Pharmacy & Pharmacology (eighth in the world, fourth in the UK), Nursing (27th in the world, fifth in the UK), Veterinary Science (36th in the world, seventh in the UK), Education (43rd in the world, eighth in the UK) and English Language & Literature (48th in the world, 16th in the UK) also performing well.

Oxford Brookes is a vibrant, modern university that has over 3,200 international students from more than 140 different countries. Oxford Brookes University has been named as one of the top 50 young universities in the world by the QS World University Rankings – and is the only UK university to make the list.
Oxford Brookes offer a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses designed to stimulate and inspire. In addition, the University offers a guaranteed place on an Oxford Brookes University bachelor's degree if you pass an international foundation programme with the appropriate grades.

The University of Plymouth is one of the largest universities in the UK, with over 23,000 students, including around 2,000 international students from over 100 countries, enrolled. It can trace its roots back to the Plymouth School of Navigation, founded in 1862 and was formally given full university status in 1992.
Plymouth was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2012 for its worldwide reputation for marine and maritime education and research and 11 subjects were recently rated among the top ten in the UK for student satisfaction. The city is also ranked 11th in the UK for most cost-effective places to study. Over 12,000 Plymouth students per year benefit from placements and work-based learning.
It is currently the only post-1992 university to have its own medical school, and has strong partnerships with other universities and institutions in the south west. Various departments have undergone much development in recent years, particularly the library and student union, faculties of Health and Education and Society and Marine Science.

The University of Portsmouth is located on the south coast of England, about 120km southwest of London. There are over 24,000 students enrolled, 5,200 of which are international.
Portsmouth is a modern, multi-disciplinary university offering practical courses at undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research level across five faculties. Most bachelor's degrees include a one year paid work placement and the University is currently ranked 21st in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2020), and is rated highly for student satisfaction and graduate employment.
Portsmouth strengths lie in geology, earth and environmental sciences, pharmacy and sport science, psychology, mechanical engineering, software engineering, computing and computer science, law, criminology and criminal justice, forensic studies, international relations, journalism, architecture and property development. There is a full portfolio of business courses available including economics, accounting, finance, human resource management and law.

Queen Mary, University of London is the third largest college of the University of London, with the main based in the east of the city. It is a member of the Russell Group of research universities and has roots dating back to 1785. Queen Mary has a strong international reputation, with almost 25% of its 16,000 students coming from over 150 countries.
Queen Mary has the world’s largest academic health science centre, and is well known for medical teaching and research at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The Medical School at Queen Mary includes special departments in cardiology, infectious diseases, surgery and dentistry. The School of Dentistry recently moved into brand new state-of-the-art facilities.

Queen's University Belfast is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of universities and is located in Belfast, the Northern Ireland capital. Queen's University was founded in its original form in 1845 and gained formal university status in 1908. 24,000 students from over different 80 countries are currently enrolled and the University was recently ranked 23rd on the Times Higher Education’s list of the 100 most international universities in the world.

Sheffield Hallam University is one of the largest and most popular universities in the UK, with over 30,000 students from more than 100 countries enrolled. It is also regarded as one of the best modern universities in the north of England and has eight subjects ranked in the top 20 in the UK (The Times and Sunday Times University League Table). Sheffield Hallam is one of the UK's largest providers of health and social care courses, teacher training, and sport and physical activity courses.

The University of Sussex was founded in 1961 and is located in Brighton on the south coast of England. There are currently around 18,000 students enrolled from over 120 countries and the University consistently performs well in the International Student Barometer, offering funded work placements as part of its student support and degree programmes. It is the only UK university located in a National Park.
The University of Sussex is ranked the 160th best university in the world by Times Higher Education, and has a number of subjects ranked in the global top 100, including business and economics, social sciences, psychology and law.
In the National Student Survey, 82% of Sussex students confirmed they are happy with their experience, whilst Brighton was ranked the happiest city in England for students, with 93% of University of Sussex and University of Brighton students surveyed saying they’re ‘very happy’ with their education and city life.

Swansea University is based in South Wales and currently has around 20,000 students enrolled across two campuses. The Singleton Park campus was established in 1920 and is home to the Swansea University Medical School, College of Human and Health Sciences, College of Arts and Humanities, and the Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law. The Bay Campus opened in 2015 and is home to the College of Engineering, School of Management, and Computer Science.
Traditional strengths lie within the science subjects, but are strongly supported by humanities subjects, which are globally recognised. Swansea is ranked in the top 15 for Graduate Employment with an excellent 97% employment record.

Ulster University is located in Northern Ireland has four campuses in Belfast, Coleraine, Magee College and Jordanstown, and a fifth virtual campus, Campus One, online. The University of Warwick is a British campus university located on the outskirts of Coventry and is regarded as one of the country's leading institutions. The University of Westminster was formed from the Royal Polytechnic established in 1838. It is spread over four campuses, three of which are in central London.
