UK Brings Back 2-Year Post-Study Work Visa

12 September 2019

2-year Graduate Immigration Route for international students to Work or Look for Work – At Any Skill Level in the UK

The United Kingdom has come up with a big announcement relating to student visas as they have announced a 2-year Graduate Immigration route to allow international students to work or search for work at any skill level after they graduate from an undergraduate course or higher. Currently, students across the globe are allowed to stay in the country for only four to six months after completing their studies, with this new proposal the international students will be allowed to stay in the UK for two years after graduating. This PSW visa will enable eligible students to work or job hunt at any skill level, and they will be able to switch to the Skilled Work route if they find a job which meets its requirements.

The new PSW visa will be applicable for 2020/21 intake students at undergraduate or above level of study. Tier 4 visa is mandatory at the point the route is introduced. With this breaking news, the UK is surely going to top the charts in terms of ranking for being the top most study destination in the world. Also, studying and working in the UK will be highly rewarding as it is one of the developed countries of the world with high income economy, offering state-of-the-art facilities, high student satisfaction, world-class education, and is undoubtedly a friendly, peace-loving and secured place to live.

This new rule will prove to be a turning point for students and will help them shape their career effectively and efficiently with the UK offering great opportunities to grow and kick start your career at an excellent level.

According to Alistair Jarvis, Chief Executive of Universities UK, “For too long the lack of post-study work opportunities in the UK has put us at a competitive disadvantage in attracting those students. We welcome this policy change, which will put us back where we belong as a first choice study destination.”

“We are delighted the two-year post-study work visa has been reinstated. We have been campaigning this for six years and express our gratitude to Boris Johnson, Priti Patel, and Jo Johnson.” as per Founder and Chairperson of the National Indian Students at Alumni Union UK (NISAU) Sanam Arora.

PSW visa is surely going to benefit the economy, UK universities and students across the globe.
